Milo Hershman '25 Recruiting Profile

I am an enthusiastic and committed athlete who enjoys competing and the focus and discipline of training.  I find that this focus on my sport greatly assists my study routine.  I love team sports and the environment that goes with being a member of a team, supporting each other to work together.  An all-round athlete for much of my life, I turned to water polo upon commencing high school.  As a soccer goalkeeper, I was keen to use my skills in an adjacent sport and so the love of being a water polo goalie began!  Having now reached the Newington College Firsts team playing in the AAGPS and CIS premierships and Trans Tasman competition (as goalie), I love the intensity and the leadership that the position brings and I have helped lead my team to 2 grand finals this year.

Furthermore, I bring allround skills and experience in other team sports as a member of my College Firsts & Seconds rugby squad (playing in the second row) at an equally competitive level and enjoy playing basketball.  Academically, I am a diligent and consistent student who enjoys learning and have great respect and admiration for my teachers and coaches.
