Rourke Montgomery '22 Recruiting Profile

I grew up in the Midwest where you measure distance by time. I had no idea water polo existed in my area. I played a winter and spring sport but maintained those sports in the Fall. When I was in 8th grade a few of the Water Polo Team Captains came into my middle school PE class to introduce us to Water Polo. Water Polo was a Fall sport and I was looking for a high school Fall sport so I figured I would give it a try. I started out playing any position that my coaches put me in. One game our goalie was sick and my coaches needed somebody to step-up and play in the goal. As soon as I made my first save I fell in love with the sport and the position! My obsession began. I don’t want my water polo career to end in high school. I want the opportunity to continue playing and improving throughout college.
