I have enjoyed all sports growing up, but, as I was preparing for high school, I developed a passion for swimming and water polo, joining high school and club teams for both. My work ethic makes me a good candidate for any team. When I commit myself, I'm all in; I don't miss practices, I show up early, and I support my teammates. I don't aspire to individual goals as much as team goals in water polo. In a reflection of my family's commitment of service to others, we volunteer regularly at events to help those less fortunate, with my church, school, and Scholars & Athletes Serving Others. I learned the lesson of service before self from my parents, as my mother was Active Duty military for 25 years and a pediatrician, and my father is an administrator at the University of San Francisco and runs food banks in San Francisco, CA, and Helotes, TX. And, when we travel to be with extended family, we join them on various service projects in their communities. I have a number of interests in math and the sciences and want to continue to learn about different college majors and career options in these fields.
