Personal Statement

I will be graduating from high school in June, 2026 and am hoping to find a school where I can continue to play softball while also pursuing my academic goals.

I am a multi-sport athlete and enjoy playing most sports whether it is competitively or just for fun. I especially love softball because it requires really cohesive teamwork while also having a strong individual component when at bat or throwing someone out. Softball has taught me teamwork, dedication, and how to persevere when things don't go as planned.

I have played 1st base and catcher for all my years in competitive softball but have also been used as a utility player when the team needed me to fill in different positions on the field. I take a lot of pride in how I play the game. I play it hard but fair and have always gained the respect of my coaches and teammates. I understand the technical skills required to play and also understand the bigger picture of what is happening on the field. I have been praised by my coaches as having really great "game sense" and I am very good at anticipating the next play before it happens. I've continued to build my greater understanding of the game through my work as an umpire since 2022. My passion for playing hard, understanding of the game, and commitment to being a supportive teammate contribute to me being a leader on the field and in the dugout.

My coaches have always told me that they appreciate how coachable I am. I believe it is very important to listen to the feedback given and do my best to apply it so that I can always be working to improve my skills.
