My name is Tess Pelland. I am a right-handed pitcher from Calgary, Alberta. I’ve played softball for 8 years, spending the last 5 of them training year round with Calgary Adrenaline for spring/summer play. My winter ball travel team is 222’s fastpitch based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We are a generational fastpitch family so I grew up around tons of fastball players. I am a continuous student of the game. With my accumulated knowledge gained through training, I enjoy coaching younger age groups to share my experience with them. Coaching has given me a whole new perspective on the game. In noticing things in younger girls’ mechanics, it makes identifying tendencies in my own game far easier. This experience with kids has made me realize I want to pursue a career in pediatrics. I have always been interested in the workings of the human body. Biology, chemistry and sports med are my favorite classes. My drive for success has translated to a strong work ethic in both fastpitch as well as academics. I have a 4.0 GPA and plan to attend university to gain a bachelor's degree in biology. Eventually, my goal is to be accepted into med school to pursue my career of choice.
