Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Marlee Todd, I am a 2023 Grad Year attending Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona. I started off my athletic career in competitive gymnastics at the age of 3 and traveled with an All-Star National Cheer team for 8 years, I am proud to say my cheer team made national champions for 3 years in a row. I also played basketball, volleyball and was a competitive swimmer for several years. At the age of 6, I started playing softball while I continued to play multiple sports. I began my club/travel softball journey at the age of 10 and fell in love with the sport. What sets me apart from the rest is truly my love for the game, I study the game and I am continuously working on my softball IQ. I also push myself to be better than I was the day before, always setting personal goals to be the best I can be, as well as supporting and encouraging my teammates and those around me.
I am tall, standing at 5 foot 9 inches, I am the tallest on my team, but looks can be deceiving as I am also the fastest! I am an aggressive base runner and have become well known for my swim slide.
I am honored to say that I have been recognized by Extra Innings Softball (extrainningssoftball.com) as an Extra Inning 2023 Top 200 Ranked Infield Player as well as Number 28 in the Country for position player at 1B.
I am also a focused student, I currently hold a 3.68 at the end of my Sophomore year and I was recognized my Sports 360 and made the First Academic Team Honorable Mention. I have also been a Girl Scout since I was in Kindergarten and have participated in many community service projects, one of my favorites has always been participating and supporting the annual Breast Cancer Walk. I am also proud to say I have earned my Girl Scouts Bronze Award for a project my troop facilitated and implemented for my community. I was top cookie seller for my area 2 years in a row and continue to live and model the Girl Scout Law of being honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, responsible for what I say and do, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place and be a sister to every Girl Scout and Teammate. I take these words to heart in my everyday life and more importantly on my softball team!
