Sophia Butt '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sophia Butt. Sophi, Soph, Soso, or Ia; yep, I’ve had all these nicknames. I am a MIF, OF, RHP, a lefty slapper. I am class of 2025. I live in Vail, Arizona and I am a straight A student. I enjoy drawing and playing the flute and piano. I have recently moved from Maryland to Arizona during the pandemic. Maryland is where I started to play softball at age 10, but Arizona is where I am learning to be so much better.

 I am a military child who has lived in several places stateside and overseas. Growing up in a military family I’ve learned to be resilient and adapt to new places and people. I believe that I am determined and dedicated.  My inner drive pushes me to strive to be the best that I can be, yet I am open to still learn more. Every team I play for gets 100% effort from me as a player and a teammate; whether it be in a pitching or hitting lesson, practice, scrimmage, tournament, showcase, or helping a teammate be her best.

 My athletic goal is to continue to play softball in college at the highest level I can. My academic goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree in either kinesiology, physical therapy, or graphic design, interior design. My ultimate goal would be to find a college where I can pursue both my athletic and academic goals.
