Kyra Watson '17 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. My name is Kyra Watson and my graduating year is 2017.  I live in Langley, British Columbia and I am currently attending Yale Secondary. I am a Power-hitting Right Handed Pitcher / 1st Baseman and currently play for the Cascade Crush U18 Gold and I am also a member of the Gold-medal Great Britain U19 Junior Women's National Team at the 2016 European Junior Women's Championship.

I am extremely hardworking and I am dedicated in both my academics and to the sport that I love. I play for my TEAM.  I play for the name on the front of my jersey and for the girls that are by my side. Together we work to achieve the same goals.  My team has always been a very important factor in my softball life.  They support me, they encourage me, and they are part of the reason I show up to every practice with a smile on my face and a desire to get better every day.

My old coach once told me that “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”.  That really spoke to me as a player because anyone can have talent, but it is how hard you work that determines what happens to that talent.   My hard work helps me standout as a player.  But I also stand out because I am always forming connections on and off the field, encouraging my team mates, and helping out where I can.   

I have the aspiration, talent, perseverance, and determination to play at a collegiate level and hope to find a school that fits my academic requirements and fulfills my athletic goal to play softball.
