Elli Thompson '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Elli Thompson and I am a class of 2024 first baseman, outfielder, and lefty hitter. I play for the Surrey Storm 2024 06A team under coach Mark Riske.   

Whether I’m on the field, in the weight room, or in the batting cage, I am noticeably the hardest worker in the room. I believe if you’re willing to put in the work, you can achieve your biggest dreams. At the plate I am aggressive and have exceptional bat control.  I hit quality line drives and can also drag bunt and slap.  On defense I am smart, always knowing what play comes next and going all out on every ball. 

As a teammate I am supportive.  No matter the score, we win as a team and lose as a team.  I have learned so much about team dynamics through my other sports.  I grew up playing soccer, volleyball, swimming, and hockey in addition to softball.  These other sports have made me an overall athlete. They allowed me to fail and in turn gain mental strength which makes me a better softball player and person.  

Continuing my education at university has been my goal for as long as I can remember. Thoughout my high school years I have been responsible in my studies and continue to post very good grades.  I plan to study nutrition and link it to sports performance.  My wish after university is to help athletes learn how to fuel themselves so they can perform at their best.
