Hi! My name is Isabella Calagna and I am a class of 2023 catcher. I’ve had a love for this sport ever since I was 5 years old and my passion for it increases the older I get. I show my passion for this sport on and off the field through my hard work ethic, drive and leadership skills. As a catcher, I’ve been taught three rules that I practice on the daily. Number one being, always make the pitcher look good. My top skill as a catcher is my framing, allowing for umpires to call strikes anywhere close to the strike zone. Number two, I must do my best to not let any runs cross the plate. I take pride in not letting any runs cross the plate. And last but not least, I'm the only one who can see the entire field, so my leadership skills must be on point. I achieve this by having a clear, loud voice, and good relationships with my teammates. My favorite thing to do when I’m not on the field is hang out with my teammates, which makes us have one of the strongest bonds out of anyone we play.
Overall, I have been told by many that I am very coachable so I believe that I can be a great asset to your team no matter what role I play. Whether it's putting in the work for a starting spot or creating lasting memories with my teammates off the field, I'm the one you can look to.
My passion for sports goes far beyond what I play as I want to pursue a career in sports management. Thank you for checking out my page and I can’t wait to get to know you on and off the field.
