I have been a two sport athlete for as long as I can remember. I started playing soccer when I was four years old and softball when I was five. I've tried a few other sports, but I couldn't shake the feeling of running after a ball and actually making that diving catch or game winning goal. I've always been very fortunate in having coaches that not only support my dual sport lifestyle, but they additionally focused on improving my weaknesses and pushing me to reach my full potential. For example, with the help of my batting coach, I have recently learned how to place down a bunt anywhere I want. I've been described by teammates and coaches as cheerful, uplifting, coachable, and "fearless". During my freshman year, I received the MVP on my JV soccer team, and on varsity softball, I received outstanding rookie award and most "inspirational" in which I was very honored. As a sophomore, I increased my standings to a varsity soccer goal keeper, and led the varsity softball team as a co-captain. Due to the recent events of COVID-19, my team and I did not get the chance to finish our softball season; however, I have been using this time at home to focus on the small mechanics of my swing and continuing to work on my mental understanding of the game.
Academically, I believe school is a top priority which is why I have always been recognized as being in the top portion of my class my freshman and sophomore years at Corona High. I have completed my second year within the bio-medical STEM pathway which focuses students who strive to succeed in a medical career. I love the hands on and collaborative learning styles this program provides, and I have made plausibly life long friends. I highly enjoy my classes, and in the future, I envision myself in the medical field.
