I feel very fortunate to be raised by my parents who both played sports at a high level. My mom (school teacher)played softball at CSUDH and San Diego State. My dad (Police Officer) pitched at Long Beach State and the minor leagues for the White Sox. My whole life they have preached to work hard, be a great teammate, great student, and most of all a great human being. I didn't know it until recently but my parents have been prepping me to not only but a student athlete but be a great person. I think a lot of athletes don't understand to trust the process and get caught up in the highs and lows of their performance. The process to me is the incredible journey that every athlete gets to be a part of. I've got to see places and meet people that most kids would never have the opportunity to do. What hard work means to me is when I look in the mirror I'm comfortable knowing I've done everything to prepare regardless of the result. I know if I do the work the rest will fall in place.
Last but no least I would love to play in college with my younger sister (Morgan 2026.) She's a beast on the field and was ranked #22 out of the top #100 in the Extra Innings player rankings. She likes to razz me that I was ranked #58 in the 2024 rankings.
