My name is Alex Andreotti. Softball has been a lifelong friend and mentor of mine since the age of five. I decided at that age to commit myself to be the best softball player on and off the field. When life threw a “curve ball” at me, it was softball that helped me get through the rough times. Softball has made me more disciplined and determined as a student and as an athlete. I lead by example, with dedication, and hard work as it relates to my studies, practice, games, and everyday life. I never give up and I am always willing to do whatever it takes to help my teammates.
I am a senior and fourth generation at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory High in San Francisco, California. I love walking the halls of my school which is rich in history and tradition. I have played and started on the Varsity team since my freshman year. I have played short stop, third base, first base, center field, and currently am playing as the starting catcher. I have been playing travel ball for the past seven years. I am very adaptable on the field and go where there is a need. In fact, I am told, that I am a very coachable player with an excellent attitude. Along with my strength of hitting the ball, I was born with the natural ability for speed. I lead the league my freshman year with stolen bases and every season since then, I have been trying to improve those numbers.
I work very hard maintaining a 3.675 GPA while traveling for softball either high school or club. I have to be extra diligent with my studying, as I have been diagnosed with a learning disability that I refuse to let slow me down. I want to find a college/university that is rich in tradition and mentors success. I want to be a success in the classroom and a monster on the field.
My ultimate goal is to get a teaching or counseling credential. I want to return to my high school and give back what they have given me, a solid education, the tools to be a leader and the compassion to lend a helping hand. I also want to show future young women that organized sports, such as softball, can help one get through the difficult stages of young adulthood.
