Gianna Duca '23 Recruiting Profile

My college goals are to make it as a duel sport athlete.  I have been overlooked because of my size since my career began when I was 7. Coaches have doubted me but it only fuels my fire to compete harder, train harder, and be better everyday! My inspiration is to be just like Victoria Draper (Auburn). I actually spoke to her parents in April of 2018 when auburn played ole miss. My conversation with them let me realize my dream is reachable! Victoria was always counted out growing up. Always told she couldn’t play or wasn’t good enough just like me. Right now I’m the fastest on my team and currently the lead off hitter. I enjoy the fact that I can make the other teams coaches say “watch out she has wheels, or you have to be quick she’s fast! I enjoy making the other teams yell “she’s going!” When I’m only taking my lead of the bags. I lead the team in batting average, OBP, hits, walks, RS and SB. I’m a switch hitter and a complete slapper. I pride myself on beating out ground ball hits and reading the defense and placing the ball where the defense is not. (Sometimes over the outfielders heads when they cheat me (: ) I love my teammates, I love making them smile when I dance to my Korean pop music, that I know they don’t understand, but they enjoy me being the goofball I am. I know that there is a college coach that will take an interest in me for who I am and what I can bring to his or her team.
