Hailey Wich '20 Recruiting Profile

I’ve played softball since I was 7 years old. At first it was just to try a new sport. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the game. Every day I get to lace up my cleats and step onto the field is a good day. I work hard and train hard. I put everything I have into being the best student athlete I can be. I currently train 6 days a week either on the field, in the gym, or with my speed coach.

Softball has helped both on and off the field with my communication skills, ability to judge a situation, and the importance of commitment. My favorite aspect of the game would have to be my teammates. I have learned that my teammates are my family. They are there during the successes as well as the learning opportunities. Together we learn and at the end of the day it only makes us better.

I am a freshman at Poly Tech High School in Woodside, Delaware and play for the Lady Lightning Gold 18u organization based out of Virginia. I am a centerfielder with the ability to play middle infield; I’m a right handed batter.

I want to continue my passion for the game by playing at the next level in college and eventually give back to my community by helping some other little girl fall in love with the game.
