I am an extremely hard working athlete who hates being second best in the sport. In my younger years, I played behind MANY girls and hardly touched the field, but I used that as motivation to improve. I've worked my way up to where I am as a ballplayer, in catching especially. I motivate my team to push through in tough game situations. I communicate vocally all the time in games and consider myself the leader on the field. I love softball and couldn't imagine not playing.
Although I am a better softball player than student, I still make very good grades. I have a 3.43 weighted GPA through my sophomore year and take all high level classes through the Cambridge program. It's hard for me to stay interested in what I'm learning sometimes, but I know it's important to stay on track academically if I hope to play college softball some day. I use this as a reminder to help keep up my grades.
