Jenna Davenport '27 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was seven years old, and ever since the beginning, I loved being on the field and getting dirty. I am excited to see where my love for the game and hard work could take me, and I hope to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I have a solid foundation of fundamentals, I am a strong and determined athlete, and I have mental toughness and a very high softball IQ. 

I am a natural team leader, and I try to lead by example while continuing to support my teammates. I am extremely coachable and flexible, and my goal is to be the hardest-working player on the field all the time. I put a lot of work into my softball skills, and I continue to practice year-round to keep growing. I've played club travel ball since I was nine years old, and I had the privilege to be the starting pitcher on my high school varsity team as a freshman. At the end of the season, I was awarded first-team all-league pitcher and athlete of the month. 

At school, I take all my classes and work very seriously while still presenting a friendly and outgoing demeanor. During my freshman year, I received the "Viking of the Month" award for good citizenship and personality. I've also had the privilege of singing the Star Spangled Banner for home games and being accepted into an All-State Choir. Therefore, I strive to excel in every aspect of my life, and will never settle for, "good enough."

I want to attend a college where I can challenge myself and test my limits, where I am mentored and coached in a positive and supportive way, and where I can be a light to everyone around me so that I can use my talents and gifts to further bring the glory to God.
