My name is Rylee O’Connor, I am a Junior at Marist High School. My passion for softball started at the age of nine and has only grown stronger every year. My primary position is catcher. My secondary position is left field.
I always strive to be the best I can be, on and off the field. I set goals for myself and never quit until I reach them. Even if this means staying up late or waking up very early. I will always put the right amount of work in for the day. Over the years, I have become a very disciplined player. I would describe myself as a hard worker, team player, leader and I always strive to accomplish my goals. I work well with a team and coaches. I always aim to get better and take into consideration the things my coaches tell me. I understand college softball is a big commitment and I will do everything in my power to keep it a top priority, along with balancing my academics.
I am an Honor Roll student and a Student Ambassador at Marist High School. Alongside playing softball, I also box. I would say that boxing has taught me mental toughness, discipline, and focus. These abilities run as a common thread throughout my life, as a student and on the field as well. My ultimate goal is to succeed as a student and athlete, playing softball at the collegiate level.
