Camila Rodriguez '26 Recruiting Profile

My whole life I have played baseball and recently, have gone into softball because I want to play at a higher level. I have enjoyed the competitiveness of baseball have kept up as being the only girl, and have been the first girl at my high school to make it to the baseball team. I believe that my diverse experiences in baseball have prepared me to play softball at a higher level, both mentally, and physically. I am excited and looking forward to playing softball at a higher level for the competition and the good comradery that I will have with my teammates since I will no longer be the only girl. What makes me a good player is that I am always focused, have great time management between school and sports, and have discipline. What makes me different from other players is that I have undergone different experiences being the only girl on the baseball team, good and bad, whether it be from coaches or teammates. There was a time when everyone was doubting my ability to make the high school baseball team, my high school is one of the most populated high schools in the City of Chicago, and because of the doubt that even my parents had, I worked twice as hard as any of the boys trying out for the high school team, I wanted to prove people wrong, this is what I believe makes me a different player, and what makes me excited for playing softball at a higher level.
