Getting into the sport at such a young age and growing up with the influence of baseball, has allowed me to see many different aspects of the game. From batting practice in a random cage, to playing catch in the backyard, softball has always been an easy release for me. My dad and grandpa really stressed the importance of the mental aspect of the game. Being told "the game is 90% mental, 10% skill" has shaped the way I play individually and as a team. During a game, I believe in setting your own mistakes to to the side to encourage, and pick up your teammates. This being said, I do not mean that I completely disregard the error, instead I acknowledge it and move on. This mindset has helped me work hard during practices and focus during games. This statement has stuck with me and I believe that playing to have fun as a team really influences the success of each player individually and as a team. The most important trait of success is being able to play as one.
