Fall 2023Personal Statement
My name is Nicole Ekhoff and I am from Bloomington, IL. I am a 2028 graduate currently in 8th grade at Kingsley Jr. High School in Normal, IL with a 3.4/3.0 GPA. I plan to attend University High School in the fall of 2024. I play for The Hitting Center 2010 Clayton and am a Catcher, but I also play Outfield.
Although academics are my top priority, my unmatched work ethic, competitiveness, and energy has driven me to become the best 5’9” 150lb catcher and teammate I can be at 13 years old. My average pop time is 1.94 seconds and my personal best is 1.81 seconds (captured at University of Tennessee Elite Winter Catcher’s Camp 12/2/23).

I am excited to be playing select ball with The Hitting Center 2010 this upcoming season. My team is extremely talented, and we will be playing an exclusive PGF schedule against some of the best competition in the country. This will allow the best opportunity for me to showcase my talent, while continuing to grow.

Training

- I train 3-4 days/week at The Performance Lab 5:00am group class. Training sessions are 1 and a half to 2 hour sessions.
- Mental Focus and Toughness/Hitting

- I attend The Hitting Center Player Development (mental and hitting focus with HitTrax) once/week.
- Catching
- 3 years
- I train on catching and throwing mechanics and drills as well as additional hitting with my dad at least 5 days/week. I also coach catching lessons with my dad once/week. I attended the University of Tennessee Pitcher/Catcher Camp on 6/12/23. I am scheduled to attend the University of Tennessee Elite Catching and Main Camp on 12/2/23-12/3/23. I am scheduled to attend the Jen Schro Retreat for the second time on 12/28/23-12/30/23.
