Kate Nelson '26 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches,

My name is Kate Nelson and I am a 2026 graduate of Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois. I am a LHP and 1st baseman. I have been playing softball for 9 years and I have been playing travel softball for 7 of them. Over the years, softball is where I have found my community. My closest friends are my teammates and playing softball is where I feel my authentic self.  I have high expectations because I love the risk and reward that the game of softball brings. Although this can create intense pressure at times, I am good at staying calm under pressure. Outside of softball, I enjoy being involved in school clubs and activities and I take academics very seriously while also being passionate about learning. I am also a creative and artistic person, as I enjoy painting and I am involved in my school's choir program. Ultimately, I will be an asset on and off the field and an ideal student-athlete in any program.
