I have been playing softball since I was five years old. Growing up I have played all kinds of sports (softball, soccer, basketball and field hockey). Both of my parents played softball in college and that made me interested in playing too.
Playing travel softball has taught me how to organize my schedule. Prioritizing time in order to complete my homework, practice with my team, practice skills on my own and be able to do other things that I enjoy.
As a player I support my teammates and cheer for them. If I see a teammate getting down, I try to encourage them and make them feel better. If I make an error, I just move on to the next play, do not dwell on it or let it get me down. As a friend and a teammate, I am trustworthy, whether on the field or with personal things. I enjoy being part of a team and the friendships that I have made along the way.
Here are a few examples of how my teammates describe me:
"You are a supportive and caring teammate. You are a good player and you are not cocky about that"
" You are a good player and a supportive teammate. You are hard working"
My goals for high school are to play softball and field hockey. It is important to keep my grades up as well. My goals for college are to play softball and study business. My dream is to one day own my own business.
As my coach, what can you expect from me ? You can expect me to work hard with my team and on my own. I will show up each day, ready to play. You can expect that I hold myself accountable academically, athletically and in my personal life. I look forward to every opportunity to better myself and play.
