Emily Griffin '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coach. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and learn more about me.

I played many different sports growing up,  but I never loved any of them as much as I love softball. When I was 10 years old I decided that I wanted to take my game to the next level and joined a travel team. I spent most of my first year on the bench during games cheering on my teammates. At practices and at home I worked hard to develop my skills so that I could get on the field and compete alongside them. That same year I started watching college softball and that is when I knew that it was my dream to be like the girls on television and represent my school on the diamond. Ever since then I have studied the game and worked as hard as I could to be the best that I could be so that I could make my dream a reality.

Being on a travel team has been a large time commitment and throughout my eight years of travel softball there have been countless times that I have completed my homework in the car on the way to and from practice or between games at a tournament. While softball is important to me, school has always come first. I am very proud that I have maintained a high GPA. I am interested in pursuing a career as a teacher and hope to one day become a coach as well.
