Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Lyla. I am a very efficient, dedicated, and hardworking person. I am part of the class of 2024 and I play two sports which are softball and basketball. But, my number one sport is softball. It has been my dream to play college softball since the minute I had picked up a tee-ball. I hope to play at a very high level and compete with some of the best athletes in the sport of softball all around the country. Additionally, when it comes time to practicing and trying to get better, I push myself out of my comfort zone. The reason for that is I always have the mindset that someone else is always better than me, which makes me strive to work even harder. My goal in life is to make the best of everything and become a better person and player everyday.
Loudness and goofiness are my specialties. On any team I've ever been apart of I have always been the kind of person to make people laugh and have fun. Along with being silly and having fun, I'm always reminded that I'm a natural born leader. My previous coaches have always reminded me that even if I don't want to be a leader, I would still be one because that's just who I am and the personality I was gifted with. I also love cheering my teammates on and letting them shine whenever they do something awesome. I'd rather have my teammates succeed and the team win rather than just myself succeed and the team end up loosing. I also believe that any team I'm apart of is another family to me and I'll always be there for them and have their back.
On the other hand, academics are my main priority! I love playing and practicing sports, but I also know when it's time to stop and focus on my school work. The lowest grade I've ever received in a class was an 88% and it bothered me so much, that I haven't had a grade lower than a 90% since then. I believe in taking my schoolwork seriously and my education comes before any sport! To wrap things up, staying organized keeps your life a lot easier and organization is what I live off of.
