Amadis (Mia) Castro '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Amadis Mia Castro. I am currently a Senior at Riverside Brookfield High School and I play as a third and first baseman for the softball team. In addition to playing for Riverside Brookfield I also play for the Windy City Rage, a travel team based out of the Chicagoland area. My primary position is third base but I play other infield positions as well. I normally bat in the third spot in the lineup for both teams. I would describe my batting style as being a disciplined hitter while being aggressive with power to the opposite field and gaps. This year I was selected to participate in the 14U All Star Game at the World-Series. I was honored to have been coached by a few college coaches during the game which was a beneficial learning experience.

I currently hold a 4.4/4.0 GPA, while taking Advanced Placement and Honors classes. I am beginning to explore my college options and I have always been very interested in being a student athlete at the college level would be an honor in which I believe my work ethic, effort, and commitment could contribute to a college level softball program.
