Kaitlin Molden '28 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old.  I believe I have the skills and dedication that is required to play at the collegiate level.  In addition to my normal practices and games, I routinely work on my own and with private instructors to improve my skillset.  I have been a leader on my travel team for the last 2 years while motivating my teammates to reach for the same level.  Prior to our games, I always try to have a positive and encouraging comment for each teammate before taking the field.  I have led my team in hitting for the last 2 years. During this time, my average was above .400 each year.  Additionally, I was honored with an USSSA MVP award twice. This year, I have taken a more hands on approach on the defensive side.  I have begun calling pitches as well as adjusting defensive alignments.  While I spend a lot of time improving my softball, I still excel in the classroom, earning a GPA of 3.5. The biggest motivator to me at this point is to continue to excel while facing the best competition that I can. 

I fell in love with the game and have never looked back.  For 3 years I have played above my age level to be in a more competitive environment.  While this was a struggle early on, I put in additional work to try to gain my position on my teams.  Softball has taught me how to work hard to reach my goals. I have learned how to push forward after being knocked down, as well as, how to work as a team with others on and off the field.
