I began playing softball at age ten when I decided to pick up a ball and play catch with my brother, instantly falling in love with the game. I started playing travel softball on older teams as a young girl, beginning on a 16U team as a twelve-year-old. I play as much softball as I possibly can, playing on the high school team, a travel team throughout the summer, and a fall ball team. I also spend one-on-one time with my coaches and attend open fields with my team, pushing myself to not only be a better aspect to the team physically, but also being a leader to my team with my "can do" attitude. Being on a high school team at a small school has made it difficult to have two full teams, Varsity and Junior Varsity. As our young, small team struggled to finish the season due to many injuries and complications, I, along with my teammates, experienced adversity. Through this adversity, I learned that our team needed positivity and encouragement. I no longer believe that being a solid athlete is being physically good making few mistakes, I now know that being a solid athlete is being mentally strong through adversity and being a teammate and leader to the teams you are associated with. Being involved with this sport has taught me many lessons essential to life itself such as how to stay a positive impact to the people around me through adversity and complications. Softball has taught me that good work ethic and a positive attitude can get me a long way, on and off the field. Softball has brought me closer to important people in my life and allowed me to bond new relationships with family, friends, and my community. The passion I have for the game has pushed me to better in all aspects of a life, putting in work and staying focused on my life path.
I am a three sport athlete playing basketball, volleyball and softball. I am very involved in the community as I am in Pep Club, Engineering Club, Unified Track, Treasurer of our High School Student Council, a 4-H member, and am beginning to start spending time at my local homeless shelter, along with getting my own job. When I graduate highschool, I would like to be in the Medical Feild, as a physical therapist or Doctor. I am working very hard to maintain good grades, as I strive to be the Valedictorian of my class, be an active body in my community and make my way into pursuing my softball dreams of playing college ball! Being a four-time captain as a freshman and striving to a better asset to my teams and community, I would be a honored to be a part of your team!
