Personal Statement
Hello I’m Julia Vargas,
I've known I've wanted to play college ball ever since I was a little girl. My parents didn't want to force me into something, they wanted me to know for sure that I wanted to play. I was about 6 or 7 when my parents took me to my first college softball game and I fell in love. I've worked hard to get where I am today but I know there's always something more that I can give and improve on. As I've grown and matured, I've had valuable lessons that I've had to learn, one of them being that there's much more to life than softball and it doesn't define who I am. Although softball is my safe space and my home, I've learned to focus on other things. Appreciating family time, keeping my grades up, and working on making myself a stronger person mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I've learned to be grateful for the skills God has given me, my goal is to show Him through the game and the way I play. What makes me unique is that I'm not really playing for myself, my motivation is Christ, He's the one who gives me strength. Wherever I go I will be grateful and devote everything I have to my team because at the end of the day, God has blessed me with this life and I am to make the most of it.
