Personal Statement

Hello Coaches!

My name is Emma Wilson and I live in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada.  

I have been playing Softball since I was 5 years old  and I LOVE the game!  I am a multi sport athlete, (hockey, volleyball, basketball & track) which means I understand the importance of hard work, attitude and being a great teammate.

I proudly play for the Surrey Storm 03A - British Columbia Provincial SILVER Medal Winners  2021!!!!

I take great pride in leading by example.  I always give my best effort and performance on and off the field. 

Community is important to me.  I am a Coach Assistant for my local U16 Penticton Power House Team.  I am also a Level 1 Umpire in British Columbia, serving my local Penticton Minor Softball Association.  

School is also very important to me. 

I currently have a 4.0 GPA, and my goal is to enroll in Business following High School.

Whether I am behind the plate, on the field, or on the bench -  I am a fierce competitor and I always support my Team!

  • I attended the Yale Softball Academy in Abbotsford, B.C from September 2020 to January 2021. This is an opportunity where I was able to train everyday, and improve my skills as a softball player. I am coached by very elite people, such as Dave Paetkau who is a former National team coach. This has been a very good experience for me as a player and person. It has been somewhat like a college atmosphere where I am billeting with a family. This has proved that I am able to live away from home, and has provided me with a lot of experience.

  • I have had batting lessons from many talented coaches over the years. I have gained a lot of knowledge that has been significant for improving as a hitter. I will hit on my own time 2-3 times a week excluding team practice.

  • I have been working with Michelle Webster (see contact reference) as a catching coach for 5 consecutive years. She has been a big part of my softball journey, and has helped me tremendously.
