My name is Rachel Siwak from Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada and graduate in 2023 from Melfort and Unit Comprehensive Collegiate high school. I have been playing softball for the past 6 years and am always striving to play the sport I love at the highest level possible.
In 2016 I decided softball was my true passion. After choosing softball over soccer, I played on the U12 “A” Prince Albert Aces for 2 years. I learned and improved so much from year 1 to year 2 that I got to see first hand how rewarding hard work was.
From 2018- current I have played for U14 and U16 Melfort “A” Spirit Softball. On this team I learned not only how to work hard and be determined, but how amazing it is to play on a team with great teammates.
Growing up playing softball in a small town of Saskatchewan with really short regular softball seasons, I soon realized I wanted to train and play softball year round.
222’s Fastpitch was the program that gave me the opportunity to play at a higher level. This organization helped me combine my grit, hustle, and determination with the skills they taught me, to become the athlete I am today.
After not letting my first attempt of making their travel team define my abilities, I came back the next year, stronger and more confident. I played on the 222s Fastpitch 14U AND 16U Winter Travel Teams for 2 years each, and on 17U this past April. I participate in every winter training, camp or clinic I can because I know there is always room for improvement. I always take initiative to lead warmup, ask questions and be a great teammate to anyone I share the field with.
I value and take my education very seriously. I strive to not only get the best mark possible but to learn the content to apply everything I learn to every aspect of life.
My previous 13 years of dance have proven dedication to another sport I love, and has benefited my softball abilities ranging from balance, coordination, flexibility and discipline.
I believe I would be a perfect match for any team as I am confident and personable, have learned to adapt to new challenges, and am always eager to improve my softball skills.
