Rachelle Zilavec ...My goal as an athlete is to continue learning and developing how to be a great team player, and advance my own skills while helping my peers, bringing forth a positive atmosphere to the game and smart play. I openly make connections with my team members to gain a good rapport, as good relations outside of the field brings forth positive flow on the field. I am an ideal candidate for a team because I work hard, and never give up regardless of injury or game status. Last season I was unfortunate enough to suffer from a fractured finger, but still managed to play as my team counted on me. I even hit a winning homerun with that stinging finger! I am different from most of the other candidates I’ve known because I’m dedicated to my studies as much as I am to my extracurricular activities. I plan my days and weeks according to priorities and prefer to complete a project before I look into another or take breaks. I make sure work is done first and play comes second. Another advantage I have over the other athletes is that I have worked with personal trainers in my Co-op job which has allowed me to better understand how to work machines and improve my muscular strength, my endurance and speed. This year will reflect the extra work and knowledge I’ve diligently put in and look forward to my best year yet!
I am told that I am so much fun to be around because I’m genuinely happy and always want to see a smile on everyone’s faces. I’m the one who turns up the music, dances and sings and brings on the spirit! I love to motivate others while reaching my own goals because its rewarding to see success in everyone.
