Personal Statement

I started my love for softball when I was around four years old. I began to play softball more and more. I started playing travel teams when I was around twelve years old. I have played on two travel teams throughout the years. My teams have accomplished many tournaments and we plan to succeed in many more.

For me, my parents and other family members have influenced me my entire life and have always pushed me to be the best.  I have lived and played sports with a positive perspective. My family has been around sports since they were little so helping me and pushing me to be better is no struggle or hardship. Both of my parents went to college for 4+ years, also while getting good grades. I look up to both of my parents because they have accomplished so much and taught me to work hard for everything I want.

One of the most inspirational humans that I look up to is my mom. My mother was a Radiology Technician for 15 years. I spent my entire childhood looking up to her and all she did for people. That's when my love sparked. I knew that when I got older I wanted to go into the medical field and help others. I don’t have an exact plan on what I want to do in the future but I know that I want to help people, whether that is being a Physical Therapist or some sort of doctor.

Over many, many years of playing softball, I have learned multiple things. The first thing I learned is to be a good leader even in tough times. There have been games where we were losing and everybody is down but you have to be the person to pick everybody back up and keep on playing. The second thing that I have learned is to create relationships with everyone. Having good relationships will build amazing bonds with people and will create moments you won’t forget. Some other aspects that I have learned are communication, good sportsmanship, and great listening skills.

I have had many opportunities to become a better player by attending many college camps and lessons. I am practicing softball in my spare time as much as possible. I enjoy playing all positions but I am mainly practicing different pitches and infield positions. I have always strived to be one of the best whether that is on the field or off the field.

I want to attend a college where I can become a better player and student. I have a high GPA and I am part of various clubs such as KAY Board member, FCCLA, FBLA, and SADD. I also volunteer by serving at church, helping at summer camps, soup suppers, and local benefits.
