I became hooked the very first time I picked up a softball. My love of the sport goes beyond making plays and winning games. Softball has awarded me the opportunity to participate in something that requires discipline, strategy, teamwork and heart. Over the years, this sport has shaped me not only as an athlete but also as a person—teaching me the value of perseverance, leadership, and humility. I’m now ready to take the next step: competing at the collegiate level while continuing to challenge myself academically.
Throughout high school, I’ve committed myself to consistent growth both on and off the field. As a right handed pitcher, utility player and high school team captain I’ve learned how to lead by example, adapt to high-pressure situations, and put the needs of the team first. My training schedule is demanding, but I understand my schoolwork is as important and so I make sure to balance my classwork and maintain a competitive GPA because being a student-athlete means excelling in both areas.
What sets me apart is not just my athletic ability, but also my work ethic. I embrace challenges and seek out opportunities to improve. Whether it's showing up early to practice, meeting privately with coaches to refine my skills, or helping a struggling teammate, I bring my full effort to everything I do. I’m drawn to programs that emphasize personal development, community, and team culture, all of which I have found in my club program.
I’m excited for the opportunity to contribute to a program that holds the same values. I know college athletics will push me harder than ever, and I’m ready to rise to that challenge and excited to take that next step.
Thank you for considering me as a potential member of your team.
Sincerely,
Madelyn Grant
