Grace Motto '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Grace Motto and I'm a senior at Bishop Stang High School in Dartmouth, MA.  I am 5'3" and weigh about 125.  I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old and would love to continue my playing career in college.  I currently play middle infield, but consider myself a utility player.  I take a lot of pride in my defensive play and baserunning abilities.  Speed has always been a central part of my game and I always try to make my presence felt on the bases.  In recent years I have added a lot of bat speed and it has paid off as I have hit 7 out of the park homeruns over the past 2 high school and club seasons.  

I play for Bishop Stang during the high school season where I have played mostly second base and I play shortstop on my club team, the Gateway Fury out of my hometown Wareham, MA.  I was named to the Standard Times All Star team during my junior season when I hit over .400 and had a fielding percentage over .920.  This past summer season, I played in 48 games between our 16u and 18u teams.  I hit a combined 4 home runs and had a combined average of .428.  I have grown a lot in my leadership abilities in the past few seasons and I understand how to do whatever is necessary to help my team. 

Academically, I have a 3.6 GPA and have made the High Honor Roll at a very competitive high school the past 5 terms in row.  I am currently enrolled in 3 honors classes and I am interested in studying either education, psychology, or nursing in college.   

My family is a big part of my life as well and I hope to attend a college that is close enough that they can come to watch me play if possible.  Softball is a year round sport for me and I am constantly trying to add something to my game.   I am looking for a college where I can excel academically as well as continue my softball career.
