Personal Statement
Hello!
I have been playing softball since I was a little girl. I knew from the start that I had potential to play for the college of my dream. My parents wanted me to run track throughout my high school career because of the fact that I have a great speed ability, but I knew my heart was set for softball. It was not until my junior year that I made the decision to transfer over to softball to pursue the skills I knew I had since I was little. My grandparents influence me the most because they always told me that things happen for a reason and to always trust your gut and that is what I did when I made this decision. I know they support me and are always by my side even from Heaven. I have always been interested in softball because it runs in the family. My older sister played throughout high school and so did my oldest cousin. Even going to the Tigers game really sparked my interest for this sport that I love so much. What I learned about myself through playing this sport is to never ever doubt yourself. Weather you are in a slump or having a bad day, you must keep your attitude and confidence up because if you do not then you are letting down yourself and the teammates around you.
My favorite memories from softball so far is my first year joining high school softball (my junior year) and winning Districts and making it to the Regional Championship. When those amazing accomplishments came around, it really made my choice about switching to softball reality. At that time I was very happy with my decision. My academic goals for the rest of my high school career is to get my 3.644 cumulative GPA up to a 3.8+ by the end of my senior year. I am also a member of NHS which was also one of my goals. Throughout the three years of high school that I played a sport in and going onto my fourth, I have learned teamwork, commitment, leadership and sacrifice. I am looking for a program that fits me academically and athletically and I believe that I have the talent, leadership skills, work-ethic, and character to fit the best college program for me. I am certain that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
Thank you!
