My goal as I grow older is to become a dermatologist PA. My dream school is to get into the university of Michigan for a good education so I can earn my bachelor in science nursing. But of course I am only a sophomore which still gives me time to think about different opportunities like maybe going to school for softball. Softball has been one of the only sports I have stayed with throughout the past 8 years of my life and I have learned a lot about the sports itself physically, and most of all mentally. The mental aspect of softball is super important. It's all about staying focused, confident, and resilient. You gotta be able to handle pressure, shake off mistakes, and keep a positive mindset. Which is why I have found ways to over come that with my private coach, who was actually the one coach that actually saw me as player who could really make it some where and didn’t just give up on me because I was in a mental block and couldn’t get out. He told me that visualization techniques can really help, like imagining yourself making that perfect play or hitting the ball just right or even trying to clear your mind and tune out the noise all around you, only focus on one thing. What makes me different is that I don’t just see softball as a sport, it teaches life skills like teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. It's about building relationships, learning to handle wins and losses, and growing as a person both on and off the field. It can create a sense of community and self, belonging among players and fans. Academically, I hold myself to very high standards and everyone close to me knows that. I love putting in the hard work and effort to achieve these good grades because I know that this will all pay off as I grow up and I love getting the best feeling when I am rewarded with that A. All in all, I am a very social and out going person who strives academically and in the softball community and I would love to take that with me to a good college in a few years.
