My interest in softball started when I was only 5, playing catch in the backyard with my dad and my brother. I started playing traveling softball when I was 8 years old. Ever since then, my love for the sport has continued to grow more and more. A few years ago, I tore my ACL, which set me back an entire year. This obstacle helped me to grow mentally and physically to get back to the same level as my teammates and to ultimately overcome this injury. During my time playing softball, I have learned that confidence actually is the key to success. I have learned that sports are not all about the physical toughness, but the mental toughness as well. I have learned that I need to always believe in myself in order to get where I want to be in all aspects of life. In school, I am a very hardworking student who puts in extra effort to be successful by challenging myself and taking college courses. Over the years, my coaches have told me that I am a very coachable and hardworking athlete.
I would love to continue playing the sport I love in college because I believe that it can really shape who you become as a person. It is very important to me to be as successful as I can be. I would like to continue my softball career for as long as possible. I think that being involved would keep me active and help me to be more successful in college and my life by having structure to keep me on task. Being committed to a sport and being part of a team has helped me understand how to really use teamwork and create bonds between coaches and teammates that could last a lifetime.
