College Goals: (sports)
I have played softball since I was in preschool. I love the game and want to continue playing in college. My hope is that I will be able to continue playing softball at a higher, more competitive level in college as I work toward achieving an education that will result in lifetime financial and personal satisfaction.
I love meeting and getting to be friends with new team members each year as I have advanced up the age brackets in softball. Being on local, and especially traveling teams, has been a great way to meet people from other areas. I look forward to doing more of that.
Candidacy
I am hardworking, determined player. I take the game very seriously and will do whatever it takes to help the team to be as successful as possible. My primary positions have been pitcher and 1st base, but I am happy to take another position. My goal is to make the team and my education a success.
Character, Athletics and Academics
I will be starting 10th grade in the fall and have maintained an A average for the last 4 years. I am as driven academically to excel as I am in my ball playing.
I generally practice year round, taking softball clinics (one-on-one and group clinics) through the MFA (MN Fast-pitch Academy/MN Force) to improve my pitching, hitting and defense. For the past year, I have also helped coach younger players at MFA clinics. I have found that coaching also helps me, as I try to help the younger players improve upon certain behaviors.
Every year, and especially when it's a complete new group of girls, I try to organize team bonding activities (such as making team bows and BBQ’s) to get everyone involved, get to know one another and to form a group spirit where everyone wants the whole group to succeed.
