Personal Statement

I want to play with athletes better than I am, and take instruction from experienced coaching staff. I want to learn from those players, and coaching staff and continually develop my skills. I am very coachable and have a strong work ethic. I don't hide my weaknesses. I train those areas harder to be the best player I can be. I am very competitive, and I have discipline, motivation and integrity when I put in the work to be a better player. I like to be challenged, and I am inspired by those who believe in me and challenge me to do better.  I want to be a part of something bigger than me, and I am not afraid of the hard work to make that happen. I am in excellent physical condition. I train in the gym, on the field, and inside the fieldhouse daily.

I believe in a team first approach. I want to play my best for my teammates that are out there playing their best for me so we can win as a team, and learn from our mistakes together as we become better players for the team.

I will never quit, and I am relentless in my approach to training. I believe in living by a code of honor and integrity. I do not cut corners in drills to try and be the first one back to the line. I go 100% in practice, and in the weightroom because I believe the time I spend training is very important. I don't want to leave the field thinking I could have played harder.

I want to be a coach when I complete my degree and pass on the lessons I have learned to younger players so that they might believe in themselves when others didn't, and inspire them to stick with it to reach their dreams of playing beyond high school. I want to help young  athletes realize their dreams by pointing them in the right direction for improvement.

My coaches have told me I am very coachable, I have a very strong work ethic, I am very competitive with a team first attitude, and that I have unwaivering integrity and loyalty to the team. I respect my teammates and have earned their respect as a teammate as well.

Training

  • Powerlifting
  • 3 years
  • I switch between strength and conditioning workouts as my athletic schedule allows. I am currently training to capture a state record in the deadlift. I train up to 4 times a week and make sure some of my workouts are sport specific, especially during the season. I am believer in a strong core and powerful legs.
  • Speed/endurance/agility training, and crossfit
  • 3 years
  • To train endurance during the summer I ran 3-6 miles daily. I biked as well, up to 12 miles. I began my summer training at 9am and went until 12am. I sprinted, I flipped truck tires, swung battle ropes, threw weighted smash balls, did box jumps, fast foot drills and hand eye coordination work. I worked on the agility ladder and jumped rope. In the afternoon, I started more training, typically less strenuous than the morning training. It would include sport specific exercises and cardio such as walking or biking again.
  • Softball
  • 7 years
  • I have a batting cage I use daily, and I go to the field and do long toss and base running twice/week. I do softball specific exercises in the gym to improve core, and shoulder strength, and also hand/wrist strength.
  • Basketball
  • 7 years
  • During the summer, I attended practices for 3 hours three times a week. At home, I shoot for 1-3 hours on an outdoor hoop. I consistently trained at open gyms during the summer as well. During the winter, I go to practices from 5:30am to 7:30am every week day. On the weekends, I go to the fieldhouse for up to 3 hours to hone in my skills. During the season, I stay after practice and practice more, sometimes even staying until 9:00pm. 100 free throws made taking 104 shots PB.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
