My name is Cadence Dolphy and I’m a high school senior, and yes, I am 16.
I recently earned the National Merit Scholar Commendation Award (I missed the semi-finalist cut-off by one point!) for my PSAT score from October 2023.
I'm currently taking three AP courses, as well as dual enrollment EMR/EMT. I also swim varsity for my high school. Fall season is extra busy because I also play clarinet in marching band and pep band. I continue my interest in music by playing in college honor bands, MEC band, as well as tenor saxophone in a before-school jazz band.
As far as softball goes, I started at 10 and I haven’t stopped since. This last year, I joined a more challenging club team and have worked on my skills through the winter. I made Varsity for my school softball team this past spring and went to state. Since then, I've been playing for my club on both 16U and 18U teams and have worked my way up to third in the batting order, as well as starting first baseman for 18U.
I'm interested in becoming a paramedic and earn my Associate's degree. I'm hoping my current EMR/EMT college coursework will help me decide if it's the right path.
I'm also interested in biology (specifically medical/anatomy) or instrumental music, as well as secondary education. I love working one-on-one with younger students and athletes.
So I'm interested in both JUCO and 4-year schools. My main concern is to find a school that will challenge me academically, as well as develop my athleticism in softball.
If your program has a place for me and your school is inclusive, then I'd love to learn more about it.
