Hi my name is Ellerie Ulfers and I am a junior at Washburn High School in Minneapolis Minnesota where I’m a captain for our varsity softball team. Softball has been a passion of mine since it found me at age 8. I gravitated towards pitching almost immediately because It was a great way to be a leader on my team and set the tone for the game. Working together with my team has always brought me the most joy because it helps prepare us for solving real life problems. I want to leave softball better than it found me. I enjoy mentoring young Minneapolis pitchers and I have spoken at park board and school board meetings about our fields equity initiatives. I’ve played many team sports but still play volleyball competitively. I study hard and put my academics first, currently I have goals to study anthropology, sociology and am interested in becoming architect as I really enjoy math, science and design. Maybe I could also coach with this background! My goal is to play at the collegiate level with a school that values hard work above all.
