My name is Maureen Bair, I am a 5’4” outgoing, reward driven, consistent, coachable utility outfield/infield softball player. I love softball with all my heart because softball saved my life.
For the first few years of high school, I struggled with depression very badly. I didn’t want to come to school, I didn’t want to see any of my friends. Most days I didn’t even want to get out of bed. However, softball was a shining beacon of hope for me. It was a promise of change and growth. I would argue that softball saved my life because it saved me from my depression. It shaped me into a well-adjusted young woman with ambitions and hopes for a bright future. I wouldn’t be here without softball.
Softball is therapy for me, all my worries and troubles go away when I step on the field. I play every day, from lifting weights to increase strength to fielding drills off the rebounder.
Outside of my love for learning and reading, I am also an active member and officer of our FFA Chapter. I am a 8 Year veteran member of 4H, a member of the Future Teachers of America and our high school FCA.
I never give up, always recover and am consistent. I bring a positive vibe with me; I want my team to know that there is always a possibility.
My goal is to become a teacher and educate through my love of learning as well as extend my love of softball through coaching.
