Emily Mays '08 Recruiting Profile

Sports have been a big part of my life. I played baseball for fun since the age of 5 and hadn't joined a softball team until the fourth grade. Since then I have been a pitcher, catcher, shortstop, and 1st baseman. I have excelled in softball since the age of 10. I was asked by the high school coach, at that time, to come to the varsity practices to help and participate. I did all the drills and conditioning, and even won the home run derby. Since my high school softball career, I have been named 1st Team All Conference and 1st Team All District all four years, and was nominated to the All Region Team. I have also participated in Basketball and Golf. As of now, I am currently a 2nd basemen on the Eldon boys baseball team, and the first female to ever play. I was recently inducted into the National Honors Society at my school. My GPA is 3.45, and I have been an honor roll student all four years. My plans for college are to study psychology, elementary education, music, and human service agency management.
