Amanda Fitzwilliam '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Amanda FitzWilliam and I am a 5'9" strong, lean and very competitive HS athlete. I have worked hard to improve every year of competition and provide great flexibility to my coaches. I have played for a variety of different coaches and under many different coaching styles and been successful under all of them. I can play a variety of positions (OF, 3rd,  SS and Catcher.) I have a high Softball IQ and like to provide guidance and leadership to the teammates on my teams. I would say that I lead by example and that others look to me for help. I don’t get down on my teammates for mistakes and will always try to help them power through. I also don’t get down on myself if I make a mistake or strikeout, I just look to make it up in the field or on my next at bat. I was only one of 2 freshmen to make our Varsity team and the only one to start. I was asked by my coach to play in the outfield, which I never really had much experience at, but by the end of the year I was All-Conference and All-District at the position. I also stepped up on offense: hitting near .400, with a slugging percentage of .568, 23 RBI’s on 74 at bats with 11 SB, 13 BB’s, 7 doubles and even a HR and some triples. My Sophomore year I batted .522, with 11 doubles and 31 rbi's with a slugging percentage of .667. I even set the new Mo state record for most hits in a game (6) and tied the state HS record with most doubles in a game (3) . Junior year I made first team all conference and first team all district playing 3rd base for my HS team. 

I know that I am capable of playing softball at a high level in college and this drives me to do better every year. I also carry this over to the classroom. I have scored in the top percentile on the state tests, been accepted into the gifted program in by school district at an early age and currently have a 4.3 while taking honors class in High School. I even took the ACT as a 7^th grade and scored a 23 and scored a 1310 on the PSAT last year. 

I have a passion for Law and Business and am looking for a school that will provide a top notch education while providing the foundation for Law/Graduate school. I want to be part of a team that I can contribute and help win. I am considering many different schools as I am only a freshmen, but have a very supportive family will support my decisions no matter where I go.
