Marleigh McDonald '26 Recruiting Profile

Marleigh McDonald is a standout 2027 outfielder from Smithville, Missouri, known for her elite speed, versatility, and relentless work ethic. She plays for Smithville High School under Head Coach Amanda Bradburry and competes at the highest level of travel softball with Top Gun 16U National, coached by Joe Sciara. As a left-handed triple threat at the plate—capable of slapping, hitting for power, and bunting—Marleigh is a dynamic offensive weapon. Defensively, her range, quick first step, and strong arm make her a force in the outfield.

Marleigh has already made history at Smithville High School, setting the single-season stolen base record (47 in 2024) and is on track to become the school's first-ever 100 hits/100 stolen bases player. Her speed and athleticism extend beyond softball, as she also qualified for the Missouri State Track Meet as a freshman in the 4x100 relay.

A two-time USSSA All-American and former Team USA Softball 12U selectee, Marleigh has earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference honors in both 2023 and 2024, along with Second Team All-State recognition.

Beyond athletics, Marleigh excels academically, ranking first in her class (1/216) with a 4.06 GPA. She is dedicated to continuous improvement, training at Pride Fitness in Liberty, MO, under Andrew Helmick, where she focuses on strength and speed development to enhance her game.
