My name is Ava Simpson and I am a 2026 Nebraska OF/UTIL for Nebraska Thunder (A) and Westview High School (A) as a starter. My coaches have always praised my leadership, coach-ability, and eagerness to improve and learn. I have been playing softball for 12 years from T-ball to high school I have had a huge passion and love for the sport. I knew since I was ten years old I wanted to play collegiate softball. I have played every position but frequently RF/CF/MI/Corners.
I am a straight A student with a 4.875 GPA, ranked 2/415 in my class. I am very involved at school with Student Council (Rep), LINK Peer Mentorship (Rep), Student Ambassadors, Editor in Chief of Newspaper, PEW (Promoting Empowerment in our World, Unified Bowling, and Circle of Friends. I am not 100% sure what I would like to go to college for but a few choices are sonography, virology, and dental. I am open to all levels of competition that match with my future degree.
Outside of being a student-athlete I serve at my church, volunteer, and have a part time job.
I am beyond excited to see what is to come for my college softball career!!

- I was playing for 2 teams in 2023. In the spring of 2023, I played 3 games with Thunder. Eventually the team fell through, so I went back full time to Quakes, and only got to play those 3 games with Thunder.
