Personal Statement
Hi my name is Lauren Marker and I am a sophomore at Kearney Catholic High School. Softball has played a big role in my life since I was 7 years old. The sport has always been a safe place for me when I play. Some of my best childhood memories have been on the field and with my teammates. Being able to carry out my passion for softball at the collegiate level has been my goal since I was a kid.
I am on my 10th season of travel ball and I have been able to be coached by my dad for the majority of those years. In that time I have had the opportunity to play in showcase games and national tournaments. I have been a varsity starter all four years of high school. My primary position has been first base, but was given the opportunity my senior year to play 2nd base and outfield. I am currently leading the career home run record at Kearney Catholic. Our high school team qualified for state my freshman year. My sophomore season we were the class C State Runner Up. And we qualified for state my junior year also.
Academically, I am a hardworking student and my grades are very important to me. I am willing to take on challenges in and out of the classroom. I do not only push myself to be the best on the softball field but also when it comes to my academics.
