Personal Statement

I have been a three sport athlete for over 10 years and for the past five years I have added travel softball with the NY Inferno organization.  Being with NY Inferno involves the commitment of practicing three times a week throughout the off season as well as catching clinics.  Being a catcher I have often attended the pitching clinics to further assist the organization’s pitchers.

My career has typically involved soccer, basketball, and softball.  As a Freshman earned starting positions for the Attica Varsity teams in both Basketball and Softball and then decided to try something new...volleyball.  As a Junior I then made the Varsity Volleyball team.  The Attica Varsity Soccer coach approached me to play for her this fall under the advisement of my previous coach, Bob Finster from Wyoming Central School.  She did so after watching me play in the other sports.  For better physical conditioning I have realized that I need to go back to playing soccer.

This past week I was awarded a 3 Varsity Sport Scholar Athlete Award.  I have maintained a 3.9 average while taking college courses:  Calculus, Chemistry, History and Spanish and Honors English as well.  Next year I am enrolled in Calculus II, Biology, Physics and English Composition (all college courses) and it is my intention to maintain the high GPA.  I know there is a large commitment playing softball at a college level and due to the rigorous schedule I have maintained throughout high school I feel that I prepared to take the next challenge in college.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
