My name is Mia Colamarino and ever since I was younger I wanted to play softball. I started playing softball when I was 7 years old and ever since then I loved the sport. In the beginning I was just learning how to do everything like batting, throwing, catching etc. but once I got the hang out if I was so excited. I started playing all different positions and then like 5 years ago, I said to my dad that i wanted to learn to pitch. I would practice everyday by myself, with my dad or even attend pitching clinics I loved it. When the day came and I pitched my first game I was so excited. Ever since then being a pitcher was the position that I was determined to play. Softball to me is something that makes me happy, I love getting on the field with my team and playing the sport. I play during the fall, spring, and summer and go to clinics all year long, I also enjoy playing different positions because softball to me is a sport where you need your whole team to pull together as a group and make it happen. Right now I am currently playing with Pelham Bay Belles fall and travel team and I am also a Junior in my high school at Bronxdale Academy in the Columbus building in the Bronx. I am on the Columbus softball team and will be the starter pitcher. If there is one thing I had to wish for right now it would be to continue playing softball as I go on to college.
